With the socio-economic and technological advances of modern science, especially the rapid development and application of network, information technology has penetrated into all areas of human life. We have seen in the field of education, information technology is changing the traditional way of learning.This topic comes from a company's actual project; the company is engaged in virtual reality and game development. This project is education software and commissioned by an educational software company, this software is for children's learning and entertainment.The project of this thesis is to develop an interactive virtual reality-based children's educational software. Our goal is to study how to use the variety of interactive technology in children's educational software so as to reduce the cognitive load of children, better to play the computer's advantages. On the basis of the study, we developed a children's educational software-My little monster. Integrated in this system, we use a variety of interactive technology, and strive to minimize the burden of the children. Through the design and analysis of this system, we can further study the human-computer interaction technology.Based on the comparative analysis of a variety of virtual reality engines and game engines technology, we adopted Unity3D, a mature technology of the commercial game engines. This engine provides models to import, model animation playback, large scale terrain rendering, particle effects, lighting, camera control, etc. Then the programmers can focus on logical and functional requirements of the software, and put most of energy on the control of scripts. This paper describes the design and implementation of the educational game software. The related technologies, system requirements analysis and design process were introduced. This issue also involved in several of the key technical problems (cartoon rendering, Mesh Extrusion) for a more thorough discussion.Finally, I summarized the research and implementation of this project and imagine the system's future prospects.
