In the 21st century, we have made rapid progress in museums. During the "Eleventh Five-Year" period, around 100 new museums were built each year and the current total number in China is about 3020. In addition to traditional History Museum, other styles have mushroomed, such as the Coal Museum, Wine Museum, clothing Museum, Tea Museum, Film Museum, etc. All these types cover a large number of areas from national economy to small daily necessities, which permeate all aspects of economic and social life. These unique, monographic museums collect bits and pieces of history, which as a result occupy an important position in culture construction. However, there are still large gaps in the field of theoretical study, first of all how to address these museums. For example, in the existing research articles, there are at least seven or eight appellations, such as special, professional, specialized, industry, business, industrial, private, and so on. Experts are still unable to distinguish the similarities and differences between these titles, let alone the ordinary people.Theory is to guide practice, and practice, in turn, perfects the theory. While this type of museums has developed in full swing, in theory the lag will become more apparent. Short-board effect tells us that the shortest board decided how much water there is, so the theoretical study of such museums becomes more urgent.Given that the theoretical research can not be undertaken by one single person. This article puts emphasis on exploration, analysis and comparison of these titles that is repeatedly mentioned by some experts or scholars, in order to make a more easily understood and accepted conclusions for the public. Professional museums are representative, so the second part focuses on the construction of professional museums, namely its significance, status quo and the problems and difficulties involved.Framework of this article is simple which can be divided into five sections: Chapter 1, Concept comparison. Chapter 2, Definition of the professional museums. The previous section focuses on comparing the differences between the titles, and this chapter will put emphasis on"professional museum", especially its definition. Chapter 3, Status quo and the problems. Professional museums, as a new thing, will inevitably encounter all kinds of difficulties and obstacles in the development process. As the sayings goes, facts speak louder than words. Therefore, many examples are cited in this section and made analysis in depth. Chapter 4, The strategy and planning. The obstacles are inevitable, but by drawing on a number of successful cases of foreign or domestic, we may be able to get some inspiration. The final chapter, Conclusions. Besides, Government and People with lofty ideals should also give more support to protect its development! This article is preliminary and aims to call for more concern for these relevant problems.
