Study And Application On Online Teaching Evaluation System Based On Struts And Hibernate Framework

Through the popularization of the higher education in our country, improving the quality of teaching has become a problem that attracts more and more attention. As the saying goes "Judging from comparison", teaching evaluation becomes an important method to measure the quality of teaching.With the rapid development of computer and network technology, teaching evaluation can not just stay in the stage of filling a form manually or reading cards. Colleges and universities need to have an efficient, fast, integrated means to achieve a comprehensive evaluation of teaching qualityWith a background of the Subsystem of Teaching Quality Monitoring System, this paper starts with the history and the current situation of teaching evaluation, then analyzes the problems of the teaching evaluation in colleges and universities, especially the new colleges and universities, proposes the solutions to the problems at last.This paper makes a comparison for current development technologies before achieving these solutions. It selects the most practical platform -J2EE as the development platform, base on MVC pattern and executes design for multilayer structure. It combines the presentation layer framework -Struts technology and completes the object-oriented design. It achieved the operations with data persistence layer successfully with the power of the persistence framework-Hibernate. This system develops an online teaching evaluation system that applies to our school.Development needs of the system come from the actual work of the teaching management in the Office of Academic Affairs. Application of this system in the teaching management improves the previous backward methods of the work greatly. In terms of the system functions, first, this system allows all the students and teachers to participate in the work of teaching evaluation and the evaluation data has great coverage. Second, different users have different query permissions and can query the result of the evaluation feedback timely. Third, managers can change the evaluation content and related conditions at any time based on the actual needs of teaching. Fourth, the system uses the popular Struts and Hibernate architecture technology, it is very practical and can be used any place via internet.The system simplifies the process of teaching evaluation, especially the analysis of evaluation results, reduces the workload of database coding in program implementation, increases the system's portability and scalability, and improves the efficiency of the software development to a new level. The development of this system not only is an innovation on the teaching management, but also improves the theoretical level and the practical ability of the teaching team greatly.
