Laser texturing technology is an innovative and high technology in manufacturing high-value-added steel in metallurgy industry. The cold-rolled steel sheet with special surface morphology has been widely used in automobile,construct,household appliances,electronic,light industry and national defense and so on, Which creates much economic benefits for the country and the enterprise.So far, we usually use CO2 laser texturing equipment and lamp pumped Nd3+:YAG laser in roll texturing, both at home and abroad. We contraposed the shortage of CO2 laser texturing technology and Lamp pumped Nd3+:YAG laser texturing technology. This paper design an acousto-optic adjustable Q of the LD pumped lasers for roughen. The roughen effects are satisfying.This paper gives the design scheme of the laser in detail, Such as widen the pulse width by using acoustic-optic indicator adjustable Q; introduces the energy-level system,the physical and chemical characteristics of Nd3+:YAG crystal, analyses the influence of different doping concentration to beam quality; analyses the structure and the function of the LD pumping source;shave the tip-to-face of the crystal bar to improve the optical quality. According to the analysis about the laser device above, we designed and tested the laser, and then ascertained the basic parameters of the LD pumped Nd3+:YAG laser.After using the equipment in laser texturing, we analyzed the results. Through the experiment, we studied on laser power, pulse frequency and pulse width to the effect of laser texturing, it is concluded that the pulse width is the main factors to the effect of laser texturing. According to the analog computation, we simulate the surface roughness to different density matrix. Users can adjust the laser and the machining factors according to their needs.
