This thesis mainly presents the key technology used in the front-end processor (FEP) subsystem of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. The FEP subsystem is responsible for communication between SCADA systems and other external systems, thus being available to different software and hardware platforms. Cross-platform operation is a problem that needs prior consideration and solution when the FEP system is designed. The main objective of this thesis is to develop a suite of FEP system which supports cross-platform, redundancy, multi-protocol and configure-online functionalities.Taking APCS3000 for example, this thesis introduces the architecture, various characteristics and functionalities of the automatic supervisory control system. It proposes to build an open interoperate framework through conducting research analysis on the FEP system's architecture. The thesis studies the key technology issues and the FEP system's integrated architecture on the basis of component thought, then presents the design and realization of various functional modules, and finally provides a detailed illustration on design and realization on multi-protocol access module of FEP system. By developing the Cross-platform FEP system which has successfully passed the site test and run stably, this thesis realizes the research goal and has great application values.
