In the process of communication machine production, the long period of debugging accounting for about 40% of the entire production cycle and the other problems as heavy workload and rework become the "bettle neck" in the production of communication machine. Therefore, it is urgent to solve the quickly debugging problem by means of digitalization.Based on the requirement analysis, a communication machine debugging digitization platform for different engineers from different regions and heterogeneous Electronic Design Automation (EDA) data has been designed in the paper.The technology of document automation is deeply studied and a model for auto-generation of debugging documents is presented to realize the auto-generating of each debugging document in one project and the corresponding normalized configuration management. Using an intermediate debugging file format proposed in the paper and the analysis of three kinds of EDA design data, a corresponding algorithm is proposed to extract and convert the debugging information, which offers a unified interface for heterogeneous EDA design data in communication machine debugging processing. In order to find out the fatal in the design and avoid the unnecessary debugging work, a method based on the knowledge engineering is proposed to review the design of Printed Circiuit Board (PCB) automatically. According to the analysis of the characteristics of the designing knowledge of PCB, a knowledge base and corresponding matching strategy is established by the choice of eXtensible Markup Language (XML) as a knowledge representationThe experiment results show that the model and algorithm proposed in the paper can improve the level of automation and digitalization and decrease the workload and errors, and thus improves the efficiency of the communication machine debugging.However, the communication machine debugging is a complicated process and some limitions are exist in the paper. Other research aspects including the extraction of the diagram from the documents and automatic design review are the emphasises of our future work.
