With the development of computer technology, image analysis and embedded mobile terminal technology are of great concern in recent research. Image analysis equipment, which tends to be smaller and smarter, in combination with the embedded technology, influences our life in increasing number of ways. These equipments are of extremely high application value in aspects as video surveillance, office automation, artificial intelligence and other hi-tech fields.Starts from engineering applications, the thesis propose two typical mobile terminal-based image analysis systems. First of all, water level information acquisition module and information transmission module were studied, and a set of water level information identification algorithms were exposited. Then the embedded plate positioning system based TMS320DM6446 was discussed. Finally, the thesis established an embedded image analysis system platform. The main contents of the thesis are as follows:1. Current research status in the developments of water level monitoring system and license plate locating algorithm, along with the problems and difficulties faced, were exposited in detail.2. Both software and hardware implementation technologies of water level monitoring module were discussed as followed. First, a set of water level recognition algorithm was proposed. Then water level information collection module was implemented based on the development platform of smart phones.3. Design of the communication module, which transmits the water level information via text operation provided by GSM communication system, was discussed. Then the implementation methods of data acquisition and data analysis on server terminal were provided.4. The license plate locating method is studied. The thesis introduce fractal dimension to the original license locating algorithm of morphology, in order to enhance its instantaneity, and meet the demands of embedded platforms.5. A set of image analysis system was proposed based on Davinci processors. TMS320DM6446 processor core, along with its advantages in video image processing aspect, were discussed. And the development process of software was provided in detail.
