The foreign fiber existing in cotton affects the quality of textiles, which will reduce the economic benefits of cotton textile enterprises. For conventional manual picking method, the efficiency is very low, and has the high probability of missed and wrong detection. With the rapid development of industrial automation, authomatic detection equipment which is used to replace mannual operation has been a trend. At present, the foreign equipments are expensive and their performance are not perfect.The project is proposed based on the above backgrond, and we plan to develop a detection device for defect detection with independent intellectual property rights.In the thesis, we mainly research on the hardware design about fiber detection system. Based on the rapid development of digital signal processor, we design a detection equiment based on DSP+FPGA. The detection equipment consists of three parts: image acquisition, image data processing and image display interface part. For the image acquisition unit, we choose a suitable light source, and use a new type of linear array CCD camera, which can captures the fiber images with high qualtiy. Based on the requirement that the amount of image data is very large and the tansmission speed is high, we design the Camera Link-based interface conversion and receiver circuits, which can implement the real-time CCD camera control and image data reception. Simultaneously, we embed FIFO into FPGA, which can slove the problem that the video output data cannot directly connect to DM642. At the image processing unit, based on the requirement that real-time detection, we select the TMS320DM64 as the process uint, and extent the external memory which can slove how to save the large quantities of video data stream. And we also design the external circuits, including the system power supply, system clock, JTAG circuit. At the image display unit, we design the display interface circuit to display the detection result. In the end, the final PCB design issues are summarized.In this thesis, we give the circuit design of profile fibers detection system based on DSP. And we achieve the desired design objectives, and expect to provide help for in-depth study and application.
