Dynamic market environment, making the warehouse management system an important part to enhance the competitiveness for manufacturing enterprises. In order to meet the globalization of markets, consumer trends in individual development needs, companies need to respond to the needs of different customers and made very high demands for fast production, distribution and the ability to quickly implement new business. However, the current management system is difficult to respond to the challenges faced by enterprises, due to the weak flexibility, integratability and maintainability of management system software, the adaptability of the software cannot meet the requirements when the business process changes.In this paper, a system structure was proposed based on Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) framework to solve the problem mentioned above, and use the proposed system structure developed warehouse management system software. The system uses B/S system architecture and Silverlight as a client-side rendering technology. Utilize WCF services as a realization technology of SOA. Realized platform-independent communication, rich user experience and improved the flexibility and respond to changes in business processes capabilities of the system, provided a valuable solution for development and visualization of warehouse management system, and facilitate system maintenance, expansion and integration with other systems. The main contents of this paper include:. This article contains the following contents:(1) Framework design of the system. The main point of the system is the framework design, in order to make the system flexible. The system make use of the SOA design method, make it more flexible to organize the component of the system and ensure the convenience for scalability and maintain.(2) The design and implementation of functional modules. System framework design of each module after the completion of the design and implementation, make use of WCF communication mechanism to achieve low coupling between modules to facilitate module development, maintenance and system expansion.(3) Cargo storage strategy and location assignment principles design. Introduced common strategies and principles, According to the actual needs of the enterprise, proposed storage strategy and location assignment principles that used in the system.(4) Selection and application of communication. Choose the communication type according to the actual conditions and the current application of enterprises, and implement in the system to realize system communication.(5) Job status monitoring based on B/S structure. There is a big different on job status monitoring implement between C/S structure system and the B/S structure system. According to the problem of monitoring process have higher requirements for real-time transition, the system make use of Microsoft's latest client Silverlight which has excellent communications capacity to meet the requirements.
