Creating And Editing System For Group Motion

Group animation technology has a wide range of applications, and has become a hot research point in motion editing. At present research on creating and editing methods of group motion is relatively independent, and there is no completed solution for group animation operation domestically. To resolve these complicated problems mentioned above, we carry out the work as follows:1. Research on group motion creation, and implement consciousness-based simulation algorithm. Consciousness planning and awareness regulation are employed in our system as some other similar systems do. Characters with consciousness are able to regular follow-up action. Finally we give some tests on the algorithm, and analyze performance and suitable situation for the method.2. Research on mesh-based motion editing. It allows users to edit group action efficiently with existed mesh editing algorithm.3. Systematize the work above. On the basis of understanding users' requirements fully, we design the workflow for group motion editing and develop a united platform. The system can be used as a completed solution for this kind of jobs.The main contribution of this paper is as follows:1. Our system combines existed motion capture system and motion editing platform, and provides an effective and completed solution on group motion operation to animators. Users may not only create the virtual scene and characters, but also edit 3D scene models to achieve realistic effect.2. Improve the traditional consciousness-based creating algorithm. In our system animators are allowed to create unconscious characters and set action regulation to specific ones. It is more simple and direct and able to get ideal effection.
