Research And Implementation Of University Information Portal User Management

With the development of information technology, a variety of different applications systems are including a much larger group of users, the system structure is also more complex,application integration and collaboration between systems becomes even more urgent needs, result is the development of portal technology. Its development applications are mainly in the two aspects: portal and enterprise portal system.With the development of information technology on campus and the wide spread of Internet, network applications play an increasingly important role at the aspects of teaching, research and management in university, the construction of digital campus has entered a stage of application integration. At this stage, universtiy owns advanced campus network , secure data centers, the information portal system, based on portal technology to implement application integration and sigle-sign-on. At the same time, there are some problems: network (critical application bandwidth is not enough), data (data inconsistency, data sharing difficulities), application (application related problems, application authorization system vary),user (not effective access to resources), etc. Under the environment of university information, how to construct information portal from the―applicaton integration‖to―information integration‖, from the―management-oriented‖to―service-oriented‖; how to organize user-centric information and services, promote the efficient use of information resources, is one of the main research topics of current portal technology.This paper has completed the construction of a university information portal system, mainly researched and proposed user management solution,which is intend to resolve user authentication and authorization, then to create a people-oriented user environment for the university information portal.This paper established the Information Portal System RBAC model, based on the access control policy particular in role-based access control policy of in-depth studies. According to the management needs of the user, the user management is divided into three parts: user registration, user group management, rights management, and realization of these three parts are described.Portal system in this article is built on the open source portal platform - uPortal, the user group management tool is Grouper. By using the unified messaging standard user information stored in LDAP, the Grouper and uPortal integration, through role-based authorization model to establish a unified rights management, and ultimately realize the university information portal user management system.
