Design And Realization Of An Embedded Wireless Sensor Networks Gateway

As a matter of networking applications, the wireless sensor network has been greatly developed in the past few years. The wireless sensor networks have a lot of applications in the people's daily life. The wireless sensor networks gateway as an important part of wireless sensor network is used to connect a wireless sensor networks and external Internet. Design and realize a multi-mode, low power, modular design, easy to up-grad wireless sensor networks gateway has important practical value and development prospects.This article analysis the needs of wireless sensor networks gateway, and design and realize an embedded wireless sensor networks gateway based on ST's STM32F103VB chip according the needs.This wireless sensor network gateway use a SoC (System on Chip) chip W5100 which has a hardware TCP/IP stack to access cable Internet. Use a wireless module called EM770 which supports HSPA protocol to access wireless Internet.The wireless sensor network gateway reduces overall system power consumption by choosing to use low-power core processing chip and external low-power modules. It also use make the core chip optimal allocation and dynamic dormancy to further reduce the sleep power consumption.The gateway use modular-design to develop the relatively independent driver for each module of the system. And develop a front and back system to call the interface of the driver. To improving the stability of the system, ensure the real-time of the system, improving the capacity of backward compatibility at the same time. An IAP system is also been designed to complete the application programming system to facilitate the overall system upgrade.Wireless sensor networks gateway functions were expanded, a new data flow and security-related design is proposed. Those functions are used to expand the application of wireless sensor network gateway and improve the security of the system. Finally, the whole system is analyzed and summarized, and the content of the future for further research were discussed.
