With the development of modern society and the increasing demand for information, this requires expanding communication capacity. The expansions of communications capacity need to enhance the input power in fiber and increase the number of multiplexed channels. However, at the same time of increase the input power in fiber and the number of channels, the effects of Stimulated Raman Scattering (SRS) in non-linear effects will become the important impact factor in DWDM systems. The effects of SRS not only bring about power transfer from short-wavelength channels to long-wavelength channels, cause Raman crosstalk between channels and fluctuations of output power, but also result in SRS noise, error and reducing the quality of communication systems. This article mainly studied the statistical characteristics of SRS in DWDM systems. It is have great significance for further research the impact of SRS on the quality of communication systems and how to improve and make use of this impact. The issue is that we must face. It is a necessary to build new generation of high-speed and large-capacity optical fiber communication network. This paper studied a new numerical analysis-'difference method'. Using this method we can obtain numerical solution of nonlinear equation and verify the feasibility of this solution with using forward and backward difference method. In the paper, we mainly using backward difference method to calculate SRS coupled equations. The calculate results are agreement with the theoretical analysis. This paper based on the model of'Time-domain step' which bring forward by Professor Liu Yu and worked up the statistical characteristic of SRS under the conditions of dispersion limits. In the paper, we have deducted theoretical formula of statistical characteristic, simulated numerical and theoretical formula of statistical characteristic respectively and compared both of them. The results achieved good agreement. This paper simulated the Raman-crosstalk and SRS-noise which caused by SRS and compared between the physical meanings of its formulas and numerical simulations. In the paper also studied the relation between channels and SRS, input power and Raman-crosstalk, SRS-noise, the number of channels and SNR, the number of channels and standard deviation.
