With the rapid development of information technology, the traditional way of teaching has undergone significant changes. In Most of the modern university the form of homework is multimedia material including electronic documents, audio and video. Traditional way of submitting homework could not catch up with the development of the new education mode.Since 1990s, on-line assignment systems have developed rapidly in foreign countries, and many comprehensive, interdisciplinary on-line assignment systems have being appeared. The on-line assignment systems in china are mainly used for web-based education in the form of online homework submitting-correcting module. As a result of the research, most of the on-line assignment systems only provide the simple uploading and correcting function, it is lack of diversity evaluation and prompt feedback. As a tool of recording and managing the study process and growing experience, e-portfolio has been taken seriously by the whole education field. This paper drawing on the experience of on-line assignment systems'theory and practical experience is trying to design and develop an online assignment system to assist students'e-portfolio. It will provide students with a platform where the students can perform their works and evaluate others'works. This system is designed by the theory of education, system science methodology, instructional design and software engineering theory. It uses the object-oriented software development method, and it uses UML unified modeling language to describe the analysis of requirements and the design of the system. And finally I select the ASP.NET development tools and MS SQL database to realize the system. This paper uses literature analysis, questionnaire, instructional system design and object-oriented software design method to research the design and development of online assignment system which is based on e-Portfolio, aiming to give a systematic design method and providing a reference model to the design of online assignment system. |
