Study Of Vehicle License Plate Auto Recognition System

This paper studies the license plate recognition system, the relevant technical points, license plate recognition technology is the intelligent transport system is a very important technology, the system can be widely used in traffic violations, stolen vehicle tracking, automatic toll collection of the highway systems, and high-grade living area and out of traffic management, military management area and out of the vehicle management。Currently, the license plate recognition mostly PC-based solution, in PC, algorithm execution in a more flexible, fast, but the system costs are high, bulky, limited applications. To solve the above problem, the application of the system have more space, more and more researchers began to study technology-based license plate recognition technology embedded.Based on embedded technology license plate recognition technology will be the vehicle image acquisition, image pre-processing module, the image recognition module in a hardware platform to complete. Currently, the program has used the platform ARM + FPGA and DSP + FPGA two. As with the DSP Fangan, TI DSP-based company has developed an image library, so the time to do image recognition, the user program development effort is smaller, so you can shorten the product development cycle in the system uses DSP + FPGA solution.The main work of this paper as follows:First. Analysising of digital image processing based on license plate recognition principle;Second. complete the simulation of LPR algorithm base on Matlab;Third. Complete the devise selection, circuit design and PCB design based on DSP + FPGA hardware license plate recognition systemFinally, in Matlab, completed the three key part of the license plate recognition algorithm simulation, algorithm can identify the license plate characters, letters and numbers.
