MANET network have attracted more and more attentions due to its flexibility features. MANET is mainly used in military at first and then superior in business. However, MANET networks are easier to be suffered from a variety of active and passive attacks because of their non-center, self-organizing, multi-hop routing, dynamic topology and other characteristics compared to the conventional networks. So, the security is an important problem in MANET. It is consider ensuring information integrity, confidentiality, usefulness and node authentication for the security of MANET. At the same time, anonymous communication technology is currently a research hotspot in network information security. In mobile ad hoc network, message text, identity, location and topology information are all objects of privacy protection. So based on the security requirement above mentioned, the anonymous communication technology of MANET is deeply researched in this paper. First, we describe and summarize the background and related technologies of anonymous communication of MANET. Then we propose a new anonymous authentication protocol for mobile ad hoc networks, and enhance its ability with a distributed reputation system. The main objective is to provide a mechanism of concealing the real identity of communicating node and resisting some known attacks. The main works and contributions of this paper are as follows:1. According to the existing reputation evaluation mechanism, an optimization model of distributed reputation system to which a trust management is introduced is proposed. It uses statistical method to calculate reputation and checks nodes of communication strictly. The recommendation reputation is evaluated by considering past experience and recommendation reputation of voters. According to the evaluation criteria, a node's behavior can be monitored, and the malicious behaviors in network can be effectively detected.2. We propose an anonymous authentication protocol called ANAP, which is described on the Ad hoc model, based on the distributed reputation system. The end-to-end anonymous authentication is implemented by three-pass handshake using the asymmetric and symmetric key cryptography. After finished the authentication process, a secure anonymous data channels is established. The anonymity is guarantied by users'pseudonyms chosen randomly. Nodes of the network are identified publicly and independent of their pseudonyms.3. The security and anonymity of ANAP is analyzed and the ability of resist to some known attacks is described. We also analyze the validity of the protocol on network simulation platform and compare with AODV. The simulation results and protocol comparison indicate that, the ANAP protocol can enhance the security and anonymity of MANET without increasing the system cost excessively.
