With the development of science and technology, automation degree of industrial production increasing high, demand of the market for products'quality and performance increasing high, which requires product testing device has a higher intelligence. Machine vision detection technology is developed for the strong market demand, with the Advantages of non-contact, high precision, detection speed, highly intelligent, and easy to install.Currently research on the machine vision technology is relatively mature abroad and their products in this filed have been applied into the detection of products in all walks of life. However, the corresponding research at home is in its embryo. And monopoly by machine vision products from abroad is a long-term phenomenon in domestic machine vision detecting industry.With DM6437 of TI Company as the core processor, the thesis designs an embedded machine vision detecting and controlling system which integrates a full range of technologies, like embedded real-time operating system, image processing, optical technique, network communications, and serial communications etc.The hardware circuit adopts the modular design with Chip DM6437 as the core and includes modules like the image-acquisition, image-processing, memory, communication and so on. The design of the circuit of the acquisition module is simplified by the means of the direct connection of sensor CMOS and DM6437; the memory module of the system consists of DM6437 externally expansionary memory DDR2 and NAND FLASH memory, so it can store a large amount of data of image and configuration information. Besides, the system also provides a wealth of communication interfaces, such as Ethernet interface, RS-485 serial port, I/O port, thus communications with many industrial on-site equipments can be achieved conveniently.On the basis of the DSP/BIOS operating system, software of the system follows the mechanism of multi-tasks paralleled, including tasks of image acquisition, image processing, ethernet communication, serial communication which are synchronized through semaphore. Image processing algorithm is packed in the form of modules and stored in NAND FLASH memory and can be used quickly and conveniently depending on the configuration information when the program is running, which improves the image processing rate; the application of Ethernet communication software is realized through the Network Developer's Kit, which speeds up the development of the system and consolidates the reliability of network communication..It has proved that the system enjoys advantages of high detection accuracy, fast detection speed, rich communication interface, and convenient installation and so on. And it can match most counterparts abroad. It has been put into practice in the detecting site of machine vision for industrial control.
