Asphalt distributor is a kind of pavement construction machinery, which has the capacity of spraying hot asphalt, emulsified asphalt, residual oil and other liquid asphalt and transportation. In recent years, the highways of our country have developed rapidly, the application of new technology and new materials are used widely, which takes higher request of the performance of intelligent rubber asphalt distributor. But the new intelligent asphalt distributor is almost monopolized by foreign manufacturers. In this context, the development of intelligent asphalt distributor which has independence intellectual property is essential.This paper describes the development and technical condition of the intelligent rubber asphalt distributor all of the world, raise a new driven mode of the equipment after compare with the old ones. This new mode achieves stable supply of power to the spraying system, and meets the requirement of precise control. And then determines all system projects of the intelligent rubber bitumen distributor. It contains bitumen conveying system, the heat conducting oil circulating system, the air system etc. On the base of that, the paper analyses the control theory of intelligent rubber asphalt distributor, presented the concept of spraying system-the algorithm of pressure control, established a mathematical model of the control system. After the theoretical analysis, takes spray test and accumulates a large number of data, modifies the algorithm base on these data to the engineering application. Analyses the sampled-data PI control theory, and adjust the spray pressure by this method. The performances are simulated in MATLAB environment. The reasonability has been proved by the simulation results. Following the requirements of control system and real construction, selects parts of hardware and designs the software of PLC. Mainly in manual and automatic control of spray in two different ways, and for the construction of unforeseen circumstances that may arise in the design of the alarm program. Finally, designs the Human Machine Interface, complete the configuration of touch screen according to the requirements of control and the work steps of asphalt distributor. The control system designed in this paper is an important part of the project-"the design of intelligent rubber asphalt distributor". After accomplish the design, the functions of control system have been proved by some operation tests, the results indicate that the control system could satisfy the requests of research group, achieved expected goals.
