As is known, high-frequency communication is widely applied in the domains of military and navigation etc. However, the harshness of HF-channel environment makes necessitate adopting an equalizer of excellent performance to eliminate severe inter-symbol interference. Single-Carrier Frequency Domain Equalization has gradually attracted people's attention for its good property of anti-multipath and lower computational complexity. In accordance with the characteristics of wide band HF communication, a relatively integrate SC-FDE simulation system is established, and performance analysis of the algorithm used in this system is presented. Some of the existing frame synchronization algorithms are analysised and the best of them is chosen to be applied in the system which means to gain the start of a frame exactly. Based on some existing frequency domain equalization algorithms, a modified algorithm called normalized frequency domain LMS algorithm is obtained. The convergence speed and error performance of this algorithm are also simulated. A new channel estimation method, named sliding frequency domain initial channel estimation is proposed which promotes the information transmission efficiency. Eventually, the structure of transmitting and receiving terminal is given. After that, simulation scheme and performance analysis of the entire system is presented. Finally, based on the previous theoretic analysis and simulation results, as well as the problems encountered during study, the limitation of my study and some possible improvements are given.
