Color management is the main way of realizing the high quality reproduction of multicolor image between different input/output devices. Deficiencies exist in current color management technology:while multi-color printers used widely, their profiles generation technique is relatively backward; ICC color management does not meet the need of color appearance match in color reproduction; with the rapid development of the network, a network color management technology is urgently needed.To solve the problems above, the work done in this paper is as follow:Firstly, by studying the traditional four-color calibration technique, a multi-color printer calibration algorithm based on dimension reduction is proposed, which is also applied in the multicolor "ProfileMaker" designed and implemented in this paper. Secondly, addressing ink limitation in printer separation, a practical ink limitation solution is also provided. Thirdly, through analyzing CIECAM02, a consistent reproduction technology of color appearance is designed and realized. Finally, by studying the application of network color management, a profile-embed network color management solution is proposed in this paper.Experiments given in this paper also show that the work above gives a strong support for the application of CMS.
