Study And Realixation On Recognition Technology Of Paper Currency Serial Number

Recognition Technology of Paper Currency Serial Number is an integrated application which involves computer control, sensors, image processing and pattern recognition. With the increasing degree of advanced information and automation nowadays, if a functional module embedded in the currency counter is developed to automatic recognize and record the serial numbers on paper currency, it is of great convenience for our National Financial Department to investigate the counterfeit money transactions, freeze the stolen money and track money flow.According to the requirements of a company in Shanghai, taking the FPGA and DSP as core devices, this article set up an embedded system, which can collect the image in high quality and recognize the serial numbers in high accuracy. This paper describes the overall plan of the system and the circuit design of every part in details. Besides, the author completes the hardware platform and circuit debugging. On this basis, with FPGA as the control core of image collecting, this paper designs the work schedule to make CIS and AD9822 achieve a precise match. This paper also set forth the driver for peripheral circuits of DSP, which is the core device of image processing. Finally, the author proposes the dealing process for serial number recognition and completes various steps of the algorithm simulation with MATLAB software, which achieves the goal well.
