Cooperative communication system is developed based on the MIMO technology and becomes one of the most significant techniques on physical layers in the modern wireless communications. It has been proved that utilizing the relay nodes and jointly source nodes a cooperative communication system achieve higher capacity and spectral efficiency. Moreover, by transmitting information, more diversity can be gained. In this dissertation, theoretical analysis and simulations about application of channel coding for transmitter cooperation are included. The main contents are as follows:(1) A design of transmitter cooperation system with detailed encoding and decoding algorithms is showed with the performance analyzed by simulation results. This design mainly includes different decoding algorithms used in the two source nodes when they act as relay nodes in order to decrease the complexity of the system.(2) Simulations of Turbo codes with different interleaving length and LDPC codes from IEEE802.16e standard are performed under different rates and channel conditions to find out the effective factors such as rates, channel conditions and the length of information bits.(3) Based on the introduction of several relay systems, a scheme of transmitter cooperation of single node is given with encoding and decoding algorithms, in which different decoding algorithms compared with the same algorithms are used in relay and destination node. For the tradeoff between performance and complexity, with small degradation in performance to decrease the complexity of the system, it's more appropriate for cooperative communication systems. Simulations and analysis under different lengths of information bits and channel conditions are given to show the effectiveness between the complexity and performance.
