In recent years, the development of chip technics and embeded technology leads video surveillance systems to evolve into network, digitalized and embeded systems. Traditional software of embedded network vedio surveillance system which used process-oriented method and the separation of data and function, has become less and less adapted to the requirement of current applications. With the function complexity of embeded application and the demand of development period, it is necessary to introduce a new development pattern for the embeded software development efficiency requirement of the market.After traditional vedio surveillance technology, design pattern, object-oriented design and their significance are introduced, a common software framework which named WISDOM is proposed for the application of multitask in network vedio surveillance system, using the idea of design pattern, object-oriented design, component and framework. It specifies the hierarchical structure, componentization, task encapsulation, message mechanism and memory management of the framework.In this paper, combined with modular design, the framework is used for server development of an embeded network video surveillance system based on ARM9 and Linux. After requirements analysis and modules planning, the implementation of video and audio capture, video and audio transmission, video motion detection, parameter setting and user authentication are given. The practice results show that it achieves software reusing, cross-platform merit and good portability, improves software development efficiency.
