At present, Android is the most attention-grabbing smart device platform, with the fastest growing and most promising in market, especially in mobile phones and tablet PCs. With the rapid development of Internet technology, especially in the current rapid development of mobile Internet, today the multi-media applications in people's daily become more and more important. More and more demands are required. As a new operating system for mobile devices, Android of its own cannot meet the various needs of multi-media features. The focus of this article is to analyze OpenCore multi-media framework, distributed with Android source code. Referring to FFmpeg multi-media engine, a more mature and popular multi-media engine on PC, a new compromise solution is raised to overcome the shortage and restrictions met when developing multimedia applications. On the assumption of the stability of the original framework, we make a new wrapper of codecs from FFmpeg, and integrate the wrapper component into the OpenCore framework. Comparing to other solutions, it's a more effective before a new more powerful engine appears for Android, which ensures the stability of the system and is more convenient for the developers to improve and make it more powerful.
