As our country pays more and more attention to science and technology, we make a lot of scientific research achievements. Many aspects of our society are promoted strongly by these scientific research achievements. Publishing articles on the academic journal is widely recognized as a very good method to share and spread the information of science and technology. The amount of people who want to publish articles on the academic journal is increasing dramatically, so the amount of articles is growing fast too. As the publish organization, the editorial department of journal's work, which is consisted of soliciting manuscripts, going over manuscripts, copyediting, printing and publishing, is detailed and complicated. Because of receiving so many manuscripts, the method of handling these manuscripts, which is mainly based on handwork, doesn't meet the requirement of current work. It strongly affects the work quality and efficiency of the editorial department of journal. The thesis dissusses how to applie multilayer frameworks and text classification technology to design and realize an academic journal management information system for editorial department of journal to meet the requirement of the editorial department of journal.Firstly, the thesis studies some mainstream application frameworks technology. To make up the flaws of the traditional software development model and architecture, the author realizes the multilayer framework development model by combining Struts, Spring and Hibernate.The workflow of going over manuscripts is the most important part of editorial department's work, so to design and realize the workflow is also one key point of the thesis. The MIS realizes the workflow module of going over manuscripts by strictly referring to manual work flow of editorial department of journal and meets the requirements of the editorial department.Classifying manuscripts automatically is a difficult point of the thesis. To simplify the operation of the contributors, the submission module classifies the manuscripts by using the text classification algorithm which is based on Bayesian theory. In the thesis, the algorithm is improved according to the characteristics of the manuscripts. Finally, the thesis uses Eclipse and MyEclipse as the development workbench to design and realize an academic journal management information system for editorial department of journal in reality.
