Along with the computer application field expands unceasingly, printing technology is in constant development, improvement, and ripe.As on of the important and difficult issues in color printing, multi-color printing is being paid more and more attentions by scientific research institution and manufacturer. Deep research in multi-color printing technology is not only the demand of the printing theories development, but also a reality needs in practical application.On the base of a lot of documents, data and research results already have by experts, the paper mainly works on the large format printer colour separation algorithms.And the main reasearches and results are as the follows: Summarizes the theoretical knowledge involved in the colour separation technology, get a summary of theory basis of the colour separation algorithm; On the base of four-color separation algorithm, puts forward a mathematic model applies the Neugebauer equation in six-color separation algorithm; Through programming, the simulation of four-color separation and six-color separation were achieved, generate grayscale images and single-color grayscale images and compare with CMYK color mode in Photoshop. Make use of the technique of channel mode, synthesize each single-color grayscale images into color images which use CMYK color mode and CMYKOG color mode, and it proved that the colour separation algorithm are correct and feasible.Finally, a conclution is made, and the work need to do in the future is put forward.
