Portable ground mobile robot, because of its extensive application, is today's research focus in the field of robotics. In this paper, design for miniature trolley system based on remote control, video capture and surveillance in the aspect of hardware and software, which is a branch of the robot desigssn. The miniature trolley can be used for environment traffic detection, especially the dangerous places human beings can't arrive, can store the real-time captured video information, after expanded functions, the system can be used as intelligence mall-sized construction machinery.This study includes hardware and software design of the car and programming of receiver. The car parts include car itself, DSP board and the wireless router. Car body with hardware companies atmel mega32 MCU as controller, with two DC motors as drive control signals with the battery voltage sensor, light sensor, anti-collision systems, bump sensors, and speed encoder, ensure car's security, automatic search of light, intelligence, obstacle avoidance, accurate speed feedback; software components using C programming language on the MCU to complete the car's initialization, serial data transceiver, car access and change the state of motion, A/D conversion. Combining hardware and software through the car, build a car's control system. Car body loaded with TI's DSP board as a DSP chip DM62, through the DSP C-language programming on the analog video signal to H.263 encoding, receive control signals from the serial port. Wireless routers provide wireless network services, video signals and control the completion of the wireless signal to send. Receiver using linux operating system, with the Ffmpeg as a video codec support library, designed video player, and save the video file. Car of the control signal and feedback interface can do the remote control operation of the car.After the completion of prototype trolley system on the car, test results show that the car can be able to complete the basic straight, turning, obstacle avoidance and other operations. Real-time wireless network to receive video and control signals. The design of this system not only to take into account existing features, also provide future function expansion. The car system is a good development platform for follow-up of audio, network transmission, optimizing video coding and decoding, for facilitating change.The entire system has software portable (linux embedded devices widely used), facilitate monitoring(via Ethernet wireless transmission), for later analysis (real-time monitoring data storage), etc., has more extensive use in real-time traffic monitoring and control.
