Computer's popularization brings the convenience for our work and life, and also new challenges for our school laboratory supervisory work. Those situations, such as more frequent use of computer, and more software installed in computer, in particular the large-scale software, would make the computer run slowly, restart automatically, and so on. Therefore, we hoped that we can reduce the software installation in the laboratory as far as possible, under the premise of ensuring the computer utilization. Our system called the Laboratory Management System based on resource optimization is made for that reason.When we study the assignment strategies for installation of laboratory software, we divide the laboratory software into two kinds. One is the Operating System. It needs to be installed in advance, and then be used as a basic condition. Another is the utility software. We collect and collate a variety of software for education, and make the algorithm of laboratory software installation.Regarding operating system's installment assignment, we have compiled the algorithm independently, and designed a special interface to carry on the operation in the Laboratory Management System. In this part, considering the actual application, the system can complete two tasks. One is installing two operating systems, the other is installing three operating systems. However, at the rest of the situation, the system hasn't the appropriate design of interface, because of the uncertain amounts. But this paper also designs the algorithm for that.The algorithm of the utility software installation has large, complex and changing properties, so the installation uses the max-min ant colony algorithm. The paper designs quasi-instructions for the algorithm.This system uses Visual Basic6.0 Chinese as a development platform, uses Microsoft Access 97 as backend database, uses SQL statements for accessing database.
