Radio frequency identification (RFID) is a kind of non-contact data acquisition and Automatic identification technology which can automatically identify the target object and get the correlation data through the radio frequency signal. This technology can work without manual work at any rugged environment. In recent years, it gains its popularity in a broad region such as automated identification and supply chain applications, identification, entrance guard, electronic tickets, traffic etc. But due to the openness of the channel and the particularity of the device, it is a great challenge to design an effective authentication protocol for Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system. Currently security of RFID has become an important factor which prevents RFID from being adopted in large scale.Due to the security problems in RFID system, a new RFID authentication protocol is proposed, and the main work of this paper includes:1.The thesis summarizes the development background of the RFID technology and give an overview of the system constitution. By ways of analyzing the current classification of RFID authentication protocols, the advantages and disadvantages of the current security protocols are given.2. On the basis of theoretical analysis and under certain hardware conditions, a dynamic authentication protocol based on Hash was proposed. The BAN logic is used to prove the security of the new protocol.3. An implementation of the protocol is completed on the development environment, the mutual authentication process and the updating of tag ID are both programmed to simulate in order to prove the availability of the new protocol.
