With the increasing of network size, the network topology is more and more complex. The role of router in the network is particularly important. To make sure network to run normally and efficiently, the routing protocols which run on routers are key factors. Therefore, the performance of routing protocols is one of important factors that decide the network efficiency. The main contribution of the paper is that the protocol implementation mechanisms and performance characteristics of OSPF and the performance characteristics of OFP algorithm. The important work of this paper is analysis some characteristics of OSPF, such as pattern, LSA of topology, routing computation, neighbor state machine, area division, a virtual connection, transmitting of routing data and communication with AS and so on. The second is to analysis the OFP algorithm. The algorithm can compare with kinds of risks in the border and remove the edge of operation risk, the packet filters can be placed in an efficient way by generating a shortest border. It provides perfect protection for trusted network between the internal network nodes. The final, OFP algorithm and OSPF algorithm can effectively integrate and the efficiency of OSPF algorithm can be improved.Base on the above analysis and simulation software OPNET, a campus network simulation model is designed. And we configure traffic and IP address. The improved algorithm experimental analysis such issues as the number of nodes, connectivity, interconnection points. Then, the two parameter network load and characteristic delay are tested and analyzed. Based on the comparison the OSPF and integrated algorithm, a conclusion can be draw:the integrated algorithm has an advantage of network delay and load characteristics. Therefore, integrated algorithm is adapt to the larger and complex network well.
