With the development of information technology on human life, all sectors of society become more and more reliance on the Internet. The failture or breakdown of the network can produce negative impact on our life. In this case, the research of improving the survivable and self-recovery ability of network and more flexible transmit strategy of service classification has the significant strategic value.The aim of this project is to design a new protocol based on existing routing protocol. The new protocol will implement seveice classification, priority control and fast protect rotate when there is much failture in network, so author need to reaserch the principle of OSPF. The new protocol should implement on simulator to validate and demonstrate, so author need to compare the existing network simulator and known the mechanism of routing protocol on simulator to chose the suitable one for project. Finally, author need to analyse the performence of OSPF.The work of this paper is as fellow state. Firstly, analyse the principle, interface state machine, neighbor state mechine and timer of OSPF. Secondly, compare the difference of some existing simulator and choose the ssfnet in the end. Finally, analyse the implemention mechanism of OSPF in ssfnet.In this paper, author analyse how the type of failture affect the convergent time and bandwidth wastage of OSPF control imformation, and the temporary ring-path in the process of convergence, and how timer affect the the temporary ring-path and convergent time. Through simulation experiment, author cans conclud that the type of failture does not have the influence to the bandwidth wastage of OSPF control imformation, and reducing timer's value to be possible to reduce the convergent time. The work of this paper is as fellow state. Firstly, author considers the influence of network failture'type to protocol performance. Secondly, author analyse the relationship between routing convergence speed and the number and duration time of temporary ring-path.
