With the modernization and standardization of coal technology,the information construction of mine is necessary, the traditional method which simulates and represents geological information by two-dimensional contour maps and profiles, can't meet the urgent need for information trend of the contemporary mine.Mine information can be represented and understood directly in 3D spatial perspective by the technology of 3d geological modeling and visualization,which is based on the technology of computer and visualization, geological analysis is as more visual and exactly as possible.Based on analysis of the current situation of three-dimension geological modeling at home and abroad, the systematic theory of 3d geological modeling is studied at this paper, combining the characteristics of coal measure strata information, 3d geological models are set up by using Boundary Representation (BRep), application of Discrete Smooth Interpolation (DSI) in 3D geological modeling is discussed, DSI turns geological datum with different credibility into different linear constraints, deals with the fault problem in modeling well, a method based on DSI to fit and adjust geogical surface is presented,which fits and adjusts the geological surface by inserting Interpolation-Nodes into networks to change the neighbour of each node.
