Earlier in17th and18th century, the people of India and South Africa, which have very closely and friendly relationship has been maintained to the late19th century; from at the end of the19th century and the early20th century to the more than100years of time in the end of the Cold War, India and South Africa was compelled by South Africa’s white government to implement the policy of racial discrimination and impact of the South African Indian, not only that economic and trade is very cold, but also cultural exchange, political and diplomatic is full of opposability throughout the cold war. After the end of the cold war, when South Africa was built in1994, the national coalition government completely abolished the policy of racial discrimination, adjusted the diplomatic relations with many countries, including the cold war relations with South Africa which is poor in India. India and South Africa re-establish comprehensive and deepening relationship, their cooperation after cold war has completely different situation and characteristic compared to period of the cold war, and the breadth and depth of the development of bilateral relations can not be compared to the cold war.This paper introduces the historical development of India and South Africa after the cold war period and the relations between the two countries, then this paper tries to discuss the reasons of different development track at and after the cold war. At last, this paper focuses on the cooperation between India and South Africa on the international level and its influence.Despite at the cold war, the relations between India and South Africa is not very stable and harmonious, but after the end of the cold war, as a result of20years of development and the establishment of BRICS, India and South Africa has established a stable, harmonious, developing and comprehensive relationship. This is not only in conformity with the interests of both countries, but also benefit stability and development of region and the world.
