US-India relations have experienced sixty years of development has become one ofthe most important political powers in the world. The political and economic position ofAmerica is still leading in the world and no other country can match it. Due to thechanging of international situation, especially after the end of the Cold War, the UnitedStates actively seize strategic advantage in South Asia. The political, economic andother aspects of India have been greatly developed, the U.S. wants to use India toachieve dominance in South Asia, and so the US-India relations become sustainable.Changes on US-Indian relations directly affect American’s forces and their strategicinterests in the Asia-Pacific region.The world situation has changed several times from the fierce confrontation of theCold War camps, the Soviet Union and then to multi-polar world pattern evolved aseries of major changes since the1950s directly or indirectly affect the relationsbetween different countries, US-India relations are affected by the changinginternational situation, their relations experienced both harmonious tight confrontation.But overall US-India relationship is essential to the development process in India animportant political force, a powerful weight during the Cold War balance of otherforeign political forces in peacetime is to promote the development of India’s majorinward thrust, particularly in the new century, the US-India cooperation to accelerateIndia’s "big country dream" the process speed.Many obstacles the development of US-India relations exist, for example:Kashmir, India’s nuclear policy, India’s independent foreign policy and so are severelylimited in-depth exchanges between the two countries. Today, these problems continueto affect the development of relations between India and the United States. India-USrelations caused by changes in international relations between the major powers change,such inter-regional relations among major powers generally showing a shift change intrend. United States, India and Pakistan will lead to an intimate closeness with theSoviet Union, in turn, the United States enhance the relationship with India, willstimulate Pakistan co-operation with China. India-US relations have developed for60years and one of the bases for United States to return to Asia-Pacific region, strengthenIndo-US military, economic and nuclear energy cooperation to further help the Us’s strategic inSouth Asia. As the Asia-Pacific region changes, these changes need Chinareconsider the development of relations between the U.S. and India. own nationalinterest should be considerate on Chinese strategic relations between India, Chinaneeds will continue to focus on the strategic significance of China-Pakistan relations.Thawing of relations between India and Pakistan also enable China to the developmentof stable and healthy Sino-Indian relations is far more self-confidence. The same shouldalso realize that differences in Sino-US relations can not be solved once and for all in ashort time, the two countries need to weigh their national development strategies andtheir core interests, to maintain a balance between the two factors, the situation appearsto avoid stiffness.
