Study On Life Satisfaction Of Shanxi Coal Mine Workers

The reform and opening-up policy of China has given rise to its social transformation, and the transformation has contributed to the reformulation of the Chinese working class. It is the mission that the era have entrusted to the Chinese sociology which it should focus on the labor problems,develop labor specific research, provide that the specific image of industry workers, their daily and working scene as well as their social cognition and attitude.This thesis is based on six coal mines of J city in Shanxi Province, take the perspective of life satisfaction, use the methods of participant observation, interview and questionnaire survey to study and analysis the labor group of Shanxi coal mine workers.This thesis consists of five parts: the first chapter is preface,it explain proposition,research significance, research approach, research methods and cases,labor research in recent years as well as the retrospect from “abstract workers”research to the analysis of “specific workers”;Considering the characteristics of the coal miners, the second chapter designed the mine workers life satisfaction survey scale based on subjective living quality index system of chang-cheng zhou; Third chapter provided the life satisfaction data of the mine workers basis on six coal mines survey; Fourth chapter compared the life satisfaction of coal mine workers with general migrant workers’, and found the characteristics of the coal miners life satisfaction; The fifth chapter is conclusion which summarized and evaluated the study of this thesis.The main conclusion of this study can be summarized as the following four points:Firstly, according to the data of the life satisfaction of coal mine workers, the satisfaction of the consumption is the lowest following by the satisfaction of self development and leisure entertainment. The relationship satisfaction of mine workers is the highest. This may be because the bad situation of coal industry in our country,the falling industry identity for workers and the high working strength in coal industry.Therefore, in order to improve overall life satisfaction of mine workers, we shouldimprove their wages, self development and working strength aspects firstly.Secondly, comparing life satisfaction of the coal miners with general migrant workers, I can find that the life satisfaction of coal miners is higher than life satisfaction of migrant workers and their relationship satisfaction is higher than other satisfaction.Thirdly, through interviewing the coal mine workers, it can be found that coal miners life satisfaction is higher than that we predicted. It may be the outcome compared with most of the people around them.Because in coal mine area, after the recent consolidation of coal industry,wages and welfare of coal mine workers has its advantages in relative to other labor groups.Finally, although life satisfaction of the mine workers is higher than one might think, the coal mine workers is still working in a high risk and high strength industry.Only less than half of the coal mine workers will continue to work in the coal mine.The other workers decide to change your job or hesitate. Therefore, it is urgent to improve the survival condition of coal miners still.This thesis designed the mine workers life satisfaction survey scale based on subjective living quality index system of chang-cheng zhou,did participant observation, interview and questionnaire investigation in six coal mines in the city of J.And based on that,on the basis on that,it analyzed the satisfaction and its characteristics of coal mine workers and provided the the daily and working specific image of the coal miners. Its comprehensive one-hand data and the research conclusion may give a little power to the transformation from “abstract workers”research to “specific workers” analysis. It is also the academic value of this article.But due to the ability of the author and the limitation of time,there are many limitations and shortcomings in the theory discussion, case investigation and data analysis, etc. I hope I can have the opportunity to perfect this thesis in the future.
