| Since the1980s, under the influence of "global association revolution", called byAmerican scholar Lester M. Salamon, Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) inthe third world developing countries are also obtained the highly development.Thailand is one of the developing countries whose NGOs have obtained hugedevelopment.Up to July2006, there are9733foundations,10780associationsregistered in the Ministry of Interior. In addition, a lot of NGOs are not registered.These NGOs make an important effect on promoting the Society of Thai diversified,promoting the Nature, Economy and Society harmonious development, andpromoting the political democratization.This thesis consists of three parts: the Introduction, the Body and the Conclusion.The Introduction introduced the proposition of the problem and the meaning of theresearch, the current research status at home and abroad, the main research methodsand innovations.The Body of this thesis is divided into three chapters, and the structure is asfollows:Chapter1, the basic theories of the NGOs. This chapter explained the basictheories and problems of the NGOs, including the definition of the NGO, the kindsof the NGOs, the properties of the NGO and the main theory＆method of studyingthe NGOs.Chapter2, the evolution of NGOs in Thailand. The chapter first analyzes thehistorical origin of NGOs in Thailand, and then the evolution in three stages of theNGOs in Thailand, the factors contributing to the NGO growth and expansion since1980s, and at last further the main kinds of NGOs in Thailand.Chapter3, the main influence of NGOs in Thai Society development. This chapterfirstly construct the space model of NGOs, and then on the basis analyses the mainrole of NGOs in Thai Society development from five aspects, finally introduces two study cases of successful NGO.The Conclusion part summarized this thesis, and concluded on the overalldevelopment of NGOs in Thailand and the main influence of NGOs in Thai Societydevelopment.To sum up, this thesis mainly summaried the basic theory of NGOs, on the basis,made a analyse to the historical origin and the evolution of NGOs in Thailand,especially the development of the80s and90s of the20th century, the classificationof NGOs in Thailand, and the main role of NGOs in Thai Society development. |
