Content: Election of village committee is a key component of current politicalactivity of Chinese rural area. Sincel998‘’VillagersCommittee OrganizationLaw’’wasofficially implemented,the work of villagers committee egeneral election isgradually towards the standardized and institutionalized mad in China S vast ruralareas.But undeniably there are still many problems that need further research andexploration.Approaching the general election,the vast rural villagers are veryconcerned about it, but to scientifically analyse the deep—seated reasons of theseproblems and find a solution to these problems,is urgent and has important practicalsignificance for smoothly.Promoting the construction of the country side grass-Rootsdemocratic self-government. It is also a reflection of the villager autonomy as abasic system of implementing the direct democracy of China. This research uses the11election of village committee of Lushun District as a case study, identifies thecommon issues of villager autonomy in terms of direct election with multifacetedmethods.The author randomly selected10villages out of68villages, which are fromseven agriculture-related Subdistricts and one Economic Development Zone, asplaces for survey,20respondents for each village were randomly chosen forquestionnaires, then classify and summarize survey results through relevant statisticalanalysis, and conduct correlation analysis between survey results and feedback. Basedon thorough investigation and analysis, this paper proposes to solve the deep-rootedproblems in village committee election through active publicity and guidance,strengthening rational culture education, further straightening out hierarchy, strictlyregulating operation and supervising administration, and vigorously developing ruralcollective economy, so as to lay a solid foundation for improving grassrootsdemocratic self-government system.
