| Since Edward Snowden leaked the American government’s mass interception oncivilians in June.2013, it incurred debate immediately. Interception is a covert andeffective way for government to collect intelligence and criminal evidence. Withrevising domestic law constantly, the American government has ever been expandingits power to intercept the information of the suspected foreign and domestic terrorists. However, such governmental action is beyond the legislative, judicial andadministrative supervision. As a result, the ever-expanding administrative power hasbeen violating the rights of citizens, which is protected by the constitutionalamendment. Even though interception is admitted by domestic law, it violates theconstitutional spirit somehow. Lawful interception should balance the nationalsecurity and personal rights. |
