The YuQing palace is a important building in the outside east road of the Forbidden City. In front of the Qing dynasty, it was a sensitive spot in the emperor’s heart as a symbol of the heir apparent, so it was a special existence in the Forbidden City, but the research of it is not rich, let alone to the QianLong period. The author want to do a in-depth research about the reconstruction of the QianLong period.Chapter one describes the establishment of the YuQing palace before the QianLong period. In the KangXi period, the location of the YuQing palace was built on the ruins of the Ming dynasty buildings which named FengCi、HongXiao and ShenXiao. They were destroyed by war during the late of Ming dynasty. In the ShunZhi period, the FengXian palace was rebuilt on this area. KangXi emperor ordered that the FengXian palace must be westward removed, thus provided a clearing to built the YuQing palace between the FengXian palace and the QianQing palace. YongZheng emperor changed the YuQing palace to the hall of abstinence, but the details of this project was not be recorded in the literature, so it is difficult to learn about that.Chapter two explores the QianLong emperor’s mentality to the Yu Qing palace. QianLong emperor had a "sour grapes" psychological, this point in his handling of the "HongXi" was especially striking. He felt a slightly sense of calm as HongXi ’s death. At the same time, he desired to compile the history of dynasty’s palace. For these two reasons, the YuQing palace was reconstructed in Eight years of QianLong. In this engineering, the FuCha queen was pregnant. The emperor hoped the queen’s son can be the heir, thus he wanted the Yu Qing to be a palace of the heir apparent. As the queen died, the emperor gave up this idea. In QianLong medium period, the YuQing palace was the residence of ordinary princes. In sixty years of QianLong, the emperor appointed his fifth son YongYan as the crown prince and ordered him to move in the Yu Qing palace. When YongYan became JiaQing emperor, he still lived in there because his father Qian Long emperor refused to move out of the YangXin palace. So the existence of the YuQing palace showed that QianLong emperor didn’t want to delegate.Chapter three to five describe the implementation process of twice rebuilding project during the QianLong period. These chapters use a lot of maps and forms, makes readers have a more intuitive understanding. Contrasting the two projects, we can find that the project management system was gradually perfect during the QianLong period and the commodity economy had an impact on the Qing government’s shopping. In this paper, the research is not only confined to the building of the Forbidden City(The YuQing palace) itself, but also confined to the Forbidden City’s people(QianLong emperor). In the author’s study, both them are closely linked. The author believe that this article can make up for some gaps in the study of qing history.
