The pre Qin fables of China and the ancient Greek "Aesop’s Fables" constitute a flower stalk flowers, in the fable literature history. They are in full bloom at the same time of Axial Period, in the process of human spiritual life. Their fragrance affects the whole fables world between East and West. The pre Qin fables and "Aesop’s Fables" works as source of fable between East and West culture system, they are also the most representative works. As soon as they are produced, they quickly push the fable style to maturity, and their creation rules become the two civilization circle immortal fable literature tradition inheritance. This paper tries to use the method of comparative literature parallel research, to make a comparative study of the pre Qin fables and "Aesop’s Fables", in order to find the inherent law.The first chapter of this paper is the introduction part. Starting from the concept of "Axis Period" to introduce the object of comparative study: Chinese pre Qin fables and the ancient Greek "Aesop’s Fables". and introduced the development history of the early Chinese and Western fable; and their basic situation, basic characteristics; and the research status, research problems and research methods of this paper.The second chapter discusses the essence and basis mode of pre Qin fables and "Aesop’s Fables".They have common basic mode, namely "Story + meaning" mode and the same pattern of thinking to build the model of the foundation; the inner logic of the rational connection and transformation of the sense chain; and their deep culture structure, such as like / abstract, emotional / rational, the original / civilization, natural / cultural. And also includes the relationship between them and the more ancient mythology rituals.The third chapter focuses on the content of Chinese and Western fable. Mainly including the similarities and differences between the image of the role of the pre Qin fables and Aesop’s fables in shaping the story selected stories and their causes. And the social factors of the different choice tendency of the stories meaning.The fourth chapter mainly describes the form of Chinese and Western fable and the external problems. Including differences of pre Qin fables and Aesop’s Fables of different creative subject, text writing style,the attribute and independence of the style of writing.The fifth chapter discusses the aesthetic and cultural functions of Chinese and Western fable. Mainly includes the rebellious problem of pre Qin fables and "Aesop’s Fables" in the lyric and narrative aspect; both of the two have the rhetorical function and the common use of metaphor, imitating, exaggerated artistic technique; the aesthetic effect of irony, humorous and witty; as well as four kinds of cultural functions of education, carrier, communication and aesthetics.The conclusion part summarize the problems which discovered and solved in this research project and its significance. Elucidate the fable literature in heterogeneous cultural space, the Chinese pre Qin fables and the ancient Greek "Aesop’s Fables", which embodies the common internal rules. In the end, appealing we should against cultural chauvinism, seek common ground, to maintain diversity of the world literature ecologyand.
