A Study On The Regional Concept

The Epitaph of Tang Dynasty is an important document which studies the history and geography of Tang Dynasty. In the epitaph, some owners of them used to be the officers in the middle or low class. In the process of recalling the owner’s life story, it evaluates the natural environment, political environment, regional condition, history and folk customs and so on. It is analyzed and confirmed by the regional evaluation of the epitaphs which also combines the traditional literature. The main purpose of it is to restore the cognition intention in different places, it also analyses the level of the pros and cons of the region in people’s minds and explores the geographical concept of Tang in Tang Dynasty.This paper consists of the introduction, main text and conclusion. The contents are as bellow.The introduction part explains the reason why this topic is chosen, the meaning of the academic and the research methods, it reviews the regional geography concepts and the research conditions of the Sensory geography systematically. At the same time, it also defines the relative concepts and explains the division of culture.From the first chapter to the ninth chapter, it mainly uses the data of regional evaluation in the epitaph, which makes a research together with the history, geography and the poem of Tang. it analyses and discusses the eight cultural regions by analyzing the natural environment, political environment, regional situation, history and folk customs of Guannei, Henan, Hedong, Ba Shu, Jiangnan, thus getting the evaluation of Tang.The main contents of the tenth chapter are included as bellow. first, from the beginning part of the evaluation, it analyses the characteristics of epitaph by regional evaluation, which includes the diversity of the evaluation content, with Confucian rites and subjectivity of late Tang Dynasty, it makes a preliminary discussion of Epitaphs concerns the reduction of the regional evaluation data. Second, it makes an analysis of the geographical concepts of Tang and then draws conclusions that we can find the north and south’s different concepts of Tang, the order idea of Hua Yi, the circle structure thought of center and marginal ideology and regional culture space.The structure of Geographical and cultural space of circle consists of three layers: the core area, Asian cultural zone and Hua Yi order of outsider, the circle structure highlights the differences between the center and the edge, and also presents a dynamic and balanced change of the fine-tuning mode, it is also the reflection of the cultural level in different regions in people’s minds.
