In recent years, floating population are increase and presents new characteristics of family flow in our country. Rising social aging trend, no matter for convenience between parents and children need to take care of each other, or receive better medical facilities, the trailing elderly will become a universal phenomenon in the future. But it’s not commensurate with the booming trend and the national policy, public and academic research have so limited focus on this person. So far, the government has not yet issued specifically laws and regulations for them, nor include them in the community service for the native aged. The public is generally accepted that the elderly immigrants sitting pretty, they have children to depend, they do not need to pay much attention to, so it’s result in people ignore this older group’s psychological needs. Less focus on this group of academic research, especially the Psychology which is declare it’s a subject specialize study in the phenomena and behavior of human, even Sociology cast a little attention, but it’s just not enough. National prosperity, social stability and harmony, without any social group participation, take attention to the trailing elderly conform to the general trend and requirements of social development. So we try to give attention to this group from the perspective of psychology. There are two aspects in this study:the first study, Questionnaire Survey.Found two influencing factors of the trailing elderly by individual interview way(determine coping styles and parental support).Using the research tools of Memorial University of Newfoundland Scale of Happiness, Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire, Parents-adult children Social Support Scale, to found the subjective well-being of the elderly which is from Kunming(161 is trailing elderly, and 187 is native);the second study, Grounded Theory Approach. Choose 8 trailing elderly who volunteered to participate in further research from the previous study, after that using Grounded Theory Approach to looking for the influence of the trailing elderly. Two parts of the results are as follows:(1)The total scores of subjective well-being of the outside elderly’s was lower than that of native elderly, and SWB of the outside one is mainly composed of negative affect and negative experience;(2)The main reason of migrant of the elderly is to take care of their grandchildren, then is Cared. It refers different degrees effect to their SWB as the following: whether lived the same province before and after migration, age, profession, health conditions, number of children, future plan after movement; The following these are not: gender, nature of the account, whether mobility is voluntary or not, whether mobility with spouse, education level, living with son or daughter.(3)Positive coping style is the main coping style for the trailing elderly, however the negative coping style predictive power is more widely than active coping style.(4)The trailing elderly gets service supports the most, economic supports second, and emotional supports third. Service supports, economic supports, emotional supports can predict SWB of the trailing elderly to some degrees, emotional supports predictive power is the largest.(5)The trailing elderly experienced significantly less positive affection, positive experience, general SWB, positive coping style than the native elderly, and get more emotional supports, economic supports, general supports from their children than the native elderly obviously. There are no obvious differences in other respects.(6)The factors and results have been conducted Grounded Theory Approach, which showed parent-children interaction, traditional views, weigh comprehensively, self-assessment, attitude affect SWB of the trailing elderly. In the five factors, parent-child interaction is the key factors influencing the trailing elderly’s happiness, and the other four worked on SWB by parent child interaction. If the trailing elderly interact communication with their children more actively, they will experience happiness possibly.(7)There are some contradiction between questionnaire survey and grounded theory approach in the results of the study. The results of questionnaire show that flow time, average monthly earnings, relationship with live with their children, relationship with live with children’ spouse are all no obvious effect on SWB of the trailing elderly. But they have markedly influence in the results of grounded theory approach.
