Amos Oz(1939-),one of the best and most influential writers in contemporary Israeli literature,is an outstanding representative of the "New Wave" writers in Israel literary world in 1960s.Now,he is a professor of Hebrew literature at the University of Gurion.Oz has won many prizes..including "the Prix Femina ","Goethe cultural Award "," National Prize for literature in Israel "," Prince of Asturias Award ", "Franz Kafka prize".Oz is a popular candidate for the Nobel literature prize in recent years.Oz explores into the mysterious family life,he is good at showing family’s grief and joy from the daily life.and revealing the realistic predicament and history problem of Israel and the Jews ethnic.Oz shows the spiritual predicament of ordinary Jews with soothing tones,he describes personal identity confusion in the context of history,and to seek for the root of cause trouble.Oz,known as "the conscience of Israel,in his novel creations,he shows his profound reconsideration about Jewish history and reality.This article will explore the spiritual predicament of OZ’s characters from individuals,families,ethnic three aspects.First of all,the Jewish individual tragedy.In OZ’s creations,the Jews have to face the difficult living conditions,and also have to undertake the identity dilemma due to the cultural differences.The Jews suffer the physical and mental trauma and seek themselves difficultly.Secondly,the Jewish family tragedy.In front of the reality,the conflict in family is not only between husband and wife,but also between two generations.Especially in turbulent times,the atmosphere is anxiety,interpersonal relationship is more vulnerable, people is filled with gap.Finally, the tragedy of the Jewish.The Jewish nation is wracking that seeking survival and development in strife-torn situation.Here,OZ is not only to show us the sufferings of the Jewish,and the more important is to seek the solution of peace.
