On Yu 's Subjectivity And His Prose Research

This thesis is based on the theory of "subjectivity of literature" and take in the creation psychology as guide to analyze Yu Jian’s prose. This thesis is divided into five parts. The first part, which is the introduction, mainly introduces why I choose to write this thesis. Yu Jian is a famous contemporary poet and writer who has been persistently writing poetry and prose. In the 1980s, he rose to fame due to his poems. Later on, his poems gained him several awards. He has made remarkable achievements in the exploration of poetry, and his proses are equally excellent. Prose is a style of strong subjectivity and is more liberal in writing, through which creators can express their own feelings. In the creation of prose, Yu Jian has a broader space; and his tone stretches freely. He presents readers unique scenes. However, academic researches now focus more on his poems, while the studies of his prose are still fragmented and inadequate. This thesis sets from the point of Yu Jian’s subjectivity to analyze the link between subjectivity and his creation of prose, illuminating the influence of his subjectivity on his writing of prose, and the embodiment of subjectivity in his creation of prose. Through a detailed analysis, we could see the uniqueness of Yu Jian’s creation of prose. Then the first part introduces the origin of the study and the situation of current researches, and defines the related concepts. The second part analyzes the causes and characteristics of the writer’s subjectivity. The third part investigates the regional consciousness of subjectivity to find its influence on him and his transcendence of regional consciousness. The fourth part sets from Yu Jian’s folk vision to analyze his resistance toward the trend of the times in his creation, and his approval of personal life and value. The fifth part focuses on the specific ways of carrying Yu Jian’s subjectivity, and tries to grasp his unique way of expression. In the end, it summarizes the contribution and limitations in his creation.
