| From the start in 1970 s and 80 s to the self-consciousness in 90 s, and finally to the unique style in 20 th century, Yu Jian’s prose writing is different from the predecessors and transcends them in fields of content, form and language. Based on the prose texts composed in various periods, this paper, centering closely on three dimensions of prose form research, namely, content, form and language, tries to analyze “the explaining writing style”, multi-genre style and language strategies in Yu Jian’s prose writing, attempting to disclose his outstanding contribution and value to the contemporary prose, and even to the literature history.Except for the introduction and conclusion parts, this paper is divided into three chapters.The introduction part mainly expounds the reasons of choosing this topic, and the innovation of this paper, the present situation and the limitations of the academics to Yu Jian’s prose,Chapter one analyzes the connotation and spiritual qualities of “the explaining writing style” in Yu Jian’s prose. This chapter teases out the concept of “the explaining writing style ”in Yu Jian’s prose and its proposed reasons by considering the particularity in his writing and the background. From three dimensions of comparing the roaming in plateau with the awareness of life, the scenes in daily life with the private memory, and the external world with the hope for returning to the native, this paper explores the content step by step that the explaining writing style in Yu Jian’s prose involves with, and the cultural reflection to the hometown, the living,the daily life and the external world.Chapter two delves into the various multi-genre style in Yu Jian’s prose writing.In his prose, Yu Jian employs not only the literature elements of poetry and novel, but“the non-literature elements” of picture and photography. On one hand, there are some obvious inter-textual relations between Yu Jian’s prose and the poetry, which are presented by two forms, the explicit and the implicit. On the other hand, in the aspects of the plot and the characters, Yu Jian’s prose shows a fictionalized tendency.Moreover, by introducing“the non-literature elements” of photography and picture into the prose writing, Yu Jian brings out the format of “picture-text style”, which contributes to the characteristics of mixing text with picture and merging disparate writing style together.The last chapter discusses the language strategies in Yu Jian’s prose. Focused on the exploration of the language itself, this paper discovers that Yu Jian demolishes and reconstructs the signifier and the signified of language and the object while in the process of meta-writing. And guided by Bakhtin’s carnival theory, this paper plans to analyze Yu Jian’s language carnival which is created by load, upgrade and degrade of language, ridicule and banter, vulgar language in his prose. Meanwhile, this paper intends to reveal the unique charm of Yu Jian’s prose language through analyzing the dialects spoken in Kunming, which has extremely native features. |
