Art history in Yangzhou, is undoubtedly intertwined male and female of art history.However since long ago, the records of the ancient paintress in Yangzhou are not many widely attention and it could do system to research writing as sparse as morning stars.The author highly stripped the record and description of Yangzhou ancient paintress fromthe Yangzhou history records of local chronicles, painting history and personal preface-writer. In accordance with the order of the dynasty, the author used for reference Tang Shu-yu "jade platform painting history" on classification method of the role of paintress, andsystematically identified and induced the information of the ancient paintress in Yangzhou as soon as possible. This paper is based on the detailed evidence of historical data to restoredthe overall appearance of Yangzhou paintress in art history. The paper analyzed the ways which past dynasties paintress came into the painting records and summarized characteristics of formation of various types of piantress. The historical records happendspecific and critical art phenomena of Yangzhou courtesan painter poor the fame for paintings and Yangzhou Rosinante painting skill not proficient, so the author made a thorough study and search for the reasons, and put forward reasonable conjecture and explanation. From the difference of the composition of paintress in Yangzhou to analyze the impact on the three aspects of painting theme, painting way, painting application, it can deeply understand core characteristics of paintress formations. The author took Yangzhou Dong Xiaowan, Fan Wanyi the two painters as the research object at the end of the chapter, combined with their social background, life situation, individual talent and other aspects to analyze concretely their paintings.
