The combination of higher education and information technology is the inevitable trend of the development of Higher Education. In 2012, MOOC was regarded as a new revolution in the Educational field. As a new kind of massive open online course, challenging to the traditional higher education in our country. In the face of the MOOC storm, the traditional higher education in China has the opportunity to establish the sharing mechanism of high quality resources, and explore innovative teaching mode. Not only can improve the teaching quality in colleges, but also greatly promote the international trend of education. Therefore, it is necessary to do research of MOOC.First, this paper describes the research background, significance and the research methods of this paper; Second, this paper describes the basic concepts of MOOC and the related theory, which lays the theoretical foundation for the research of this paper; Then, designs questionnaire to survey the teaching situation of College English, find out the problems in the teaching process, and the feasibility of the College English in the MOOC platform; Last, comprehensive analyses the operating mechanism of College English in the MOOC platform, including the basic principles of the operating mechanism, the need to protect and support, curriculum development and management, teaching quality evaluation system and so on. It’s useful of taking College English course as an example to study its operating mechanism in MOOC platform. The purpose is to provide a practical reference for the reform of College English. |
