Word recognition or lexical access is a hot topic in cognitive psychology。 The lexical access is the foundation of reading, playing a very important role in reading. A basic process of word recognition is to extract meaning of vocabulary that readers may encounter in psychological lexicons. This study adopts measures to name some task –voice mediating effect of lexical access in Tibetan language-- and raise some questions. The first experiment was done in 300-ms SOA, and the second in 800 ms to research on Tibetan lexical access in different settings. The results:(1)When the SOA is 300 ms, the voice of startup words fail to activate the semantic meaning of its homonyms, indicating Tibetan vocabulary doesn’t have voice mediating effect. Through the analysis, there is no significant correlation between the responses of target words and the frequencies of the original word among voice mediating groups. However, there are significant differences in the semantics of the startup words. In semantic startup groups, low-frequency target words have negative correlation with the original word’s frequency, but high-frequency startup words are not obviously correlated to the frequency.(2)When the SOA is 300 ms, the voice of startup words fail to activate the semantic meaning of its homonyms, indicating Tibetan vocabulary doesn’t have voice mediating effect. Through the analysis of voice mediating groups, there is no significant correlation between the responses of target words of low-frequency startup words and the frequencies of the original word. But high-frequency startup words are negatively correlated to the frequency. Among the semantic startup group, the responses of target words of low-frequency startup words are significantly correlated to the word frequency on the verge, while high-frequency startup words are not obviously correlated to the frequency.Under SOA, the experiment shows a weak voice mediating effect in the Tibetan language.
