There are many different titles since the Ming and Qing Dynasties.Led and driven by the Qing Dynasty imperial power, two tunes of Kun and Yi which were produced during the Ming Dynasty among people at the south of Yangtze River, were passed on through historical stages of prosperity, development, boom and decline in the capital for two hundred years or so, a period which was very important in the history of Chinese opera. In this historical stage, two opera organizations called “Nanfu” and “Shengpingshu” formed a large number of Chinese imperial opera documents, which were known and paid attention to from as early as the 20 th century after the ending of Qing Dynasty. Those documents are very important historical material for studying the development of the tunes of Kun and Yi. As a result of deeper research based on that material, the research on the development on tunes of Kun and Yi, and how Pihuang gradually replaced the two tunes has achieved a certain amount of academic achievements. But the repertory of Qing "Shiju" ’s entry into the palace and its development and inheritance, and how it influenced the Kun Opera and Peking Opera is still unclear, lacking proof and detailed records and people can’t reach an agreement.Based on the Qing dynasty imperial opera documents, this dissertation specifically studies the history and development of contemporary Kun Opera repertoires called, "Si Fan" and "Leaving Home" and Beijing Opera repertoires called, "The Drunken Beauty", "Farewell My Concubine", trying to discuss the historical influence of the Qing imperial "Shiju" toward the living inheritance and development of Kun Opera and Peking Opera.
