A Study On The Diachronic Evolution Of "Negotiating" Words In Ancient Contract Documents

The research on "Contract documents"have many difficulties due to the fact of informative and numerous information, and different culture levels of writers. Because of this, it is worthy of researching. And these also made our research work very valuable. So far, even though the results of "Contract documents"have increased, there are still many works to do, such as the diachronic study of wordings.Firstly,the thesis chooses“商议”words due to the understanding of "Contract documents" in economic literature. Because, the covenant have been freely entered into the basis of both parties equal and voluntary. Secondly, another reason is that“商议”words are parts of previous dynasties contract which can be seen frequently, we can show a more complete historical evolution with its systematic study.Though the study of“商议”words, I hope to find diachronic evolution law from the analysis, thus to make a little contribution to Chinese vocabulary.The thesis holds its own standard of“商议”words which contains obvious’“商议”semanteme.Because of the historical span, some words have division of history into periods, such as the word of“平和”appeared in the Tang Dynasty contract only, other documents not founded. The extensive geographical scope make some words such as“议开”appeared in Ningbo Zhejiang only;“先商后定”in Fujian province. The masterpieces of literature were not seen cases, etc.The paper not only compile sixty-one’“商议"words which can be seen in published contract material, but also find many other examples in the literature to support. The analysis of’“商议"words use traditional critical interpretation of ancient texts to show the whole picture synchronic and diachronic.
